TCA Road Rally
March 25TH 2017 10AM
1st ANNUAL TCA ROAD RALLY
The 1st Annual TCA Road Rally generally follows the historic Telfair Trail and is approximately 70 miles in length. The rally departs from the Telfair Center of the Arts and travels through McRae-Helena, Milan, China Hill, Jacksonville, Lumber City and Scotland before returning to the Center. This is not a SCCA sanctioned rally nor is it a race. It is a timed event. It includes the completion of “rally actions”. Eligible vehicles for this rally include all licensed, registered and insured vehicles with licensed driver. No vehicle divisions are anticipated. All entries must have a driver and navigator. An entry fee of $40 will be collected at the starting point, the Telfair Center for the Arts. Additional team members are free. Applicable licenses, registrations and proof of insurance will be checked prior to start. Be sure to arrive at the Center in time to register and be ready for assigned START time. Vehicles will depart at three minute intervals and at the direction of the Rally Master.
Prior to the rally, the rally master will drive the rally route taking all the required rally actions and establish a time to finish. (Rally Master Time).Your goal is to complete the prescribed route taking all the rally actions. You must complete the rally actions correctly to be eligible to submit a final time. That time will be compared to the Rally Masters Time. The winner will be that vehicle that most closely matches the Rally Masters Time. One half of all the registration fees collected will be awarded to the winning vehicle (up to $500). The remaining one half of the collected registration fee will go for the continued operation and maintenance of the Center.
Once you have completed registration, you will be placed in the start line and receive a description of the rally route and a check list of required rally actions. Vehicles will be started at 3 minute intervals. Remember, this is not a race. You are required to follow all traffic laws, traffic signage, and obey posted speed limits. Failure to adhere to the above may result in disqualification. The driver is responsible for his vehicles insurance. The Center assumes no responsibility for liability during this rally. The rally route is straightforward with no attempt to confuse the drivers. There must be at least 2 individuals in each vehicle (driver and navigator). Our Rally Master is both fit and knowledgeable and we are confident he will accomplish the “rally actions” accurately and in a timely manner. You must complete all “rally actions” for your time to qualify for the final matching against the Rally Master’s Time.
The TCA is a project of the Pioneer Historical Society, a registered 501 (3) (c) non-profit organization. Proceeds from this event are for the continued operation and maintenance of the Center. This event is not a sanctioned rally of the SCCA. The route contains only surfaced roads, and the usual signage for Georgia roads. It has no timed waypoints or blind leads.
The Rally Master is the only individual that knows the “official” time to complete (Rally Master Time). Most other members of the Pioneer Historical Society are eligible to participate as Rally contestants.
BRING A PENCIL & CLIPBOARD. A WATCH, SNACK AND WATER ARE SUGGESTED. DRIVERS LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND PROOF OF INSURANCE WILL BE VERIFIED PRIOR TO START. THE RALLY MASTER’S TIME WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED UNTIL THE LAST VEHICLE HAS COMPLETED THE RALLY ROUTE.
After reading this information, call 868-7114 for a START time. Arrive at the Telfair Center for the Arts one half hour before your assigned START time.
